I really like all of Snody's folding designs. The 420 is a discontinued so if you can find one at a fair price I'd jump on it.

If you like the 420 you'll probably like the 14205. Both are similar knives.

It has a cult following as its a solid knife.

There is a 4200BK on gunbroker right now, the auto version.

I may end up being lynched... overlays make me sick. To me, overlays are crappy scales half a**ed scales. that's just me.

I really like a full spine as well.

it's all preference what I love you might hate.

420's a nice knife but fatter than my Momma. Pocket carry is barely possible but even then you tend to list - depending on what pocket it's in.

Still it's a favored Snody, so before Mark finds out where I live I better go...Wink

I love the feel of it. As stated above, it's a very "fat" knife, though unlike others here, I find that it carries pretty well. Maybe if you wear really tight pants, or have small pockets, but otherwise I think it should be fine. And on that note, I didn't think it would be easy to grab the 420 from the pocket due to the deep carry clip, but instead I've found that it's a breeze to take out, and the deep carry keeps it out of the way.

I'm also a big fan of the smooth G10 overlays on the flat aluminum slab handles. Makes for a very pleasing feel, in my opinion, not to mention a very secure grip.

My only issue with the design of the knife is that it's a very thick blade that doesn't cut anywhere near as efficiently as, say, a 710, 940, 520, etc. Then again, this makes it more suitable for those who want to use their knife for things a knife probably shouldn't be doing.

All that said, my 420 is now my least carried knife. It's had three axis springs break, and has developed vertical blade play. I'm sure BM will fix it for me just fine, but I don't think I'll ever fully trust the knife. I'd consider selling it, but it just feels so beefy and carries so well...
