Finally I've decided to write my first review.
Well, let's begin =)

Welcome, Benchmade 805-901 S30V Axis!

To be honest I've never understood why the 805 was discontinued even earlier than the 806 and became the kind of exotics. This big heavy-duty folder is 100% workhorse.

The handle on this 805 is pretty similar to 806-701's one, but made of blue and black G10. It's very, very comfortable.
The blade is well suited not just for self defense purposes, but also for any possible EDC utility tasks. The steel is S30V.
Slicing, cutting, light chopping... Blade shape is good enough for whatever You want to do.

This knife is from the special limited edition for one of the Russian forums.

By the way...
Try to guess, how many brass washers?

Just one on each side =)

Benchmade has polished the hardware really nice.
Check these pictures out:

The blade is almost perfectly centered.

Blue anodized spacers =) So sweet!

There is absolutely no blade playing of any kind. This 805 just opens smooth and just locks up tight, AXIS works perfect.
One more picture:

Instead of conclusion... I don't really know what else to say. I'm pretty sure, that almost everybody knows everything about S30V steel by Benchmade, about AXIS lock, about 805 TSEK. I just tried to show You one of my favourite knives =)

Thanks a lot!

To be continued...

Teasing about the "return of the 805" isn't nice.

Great pics, thanks for sharing. I actually just picked up an 806 off the for sale fourm. Many people, have spoken highly of the knife and, while I don't normally carry big knives, I need to see what the fuss is all about.

Thanks for sharing, great pics. I really like the color of that g10...blue and black looks real sharp.

Beautiful!

The TSEK is my favourite large folder, bar none.

I can't believe that it wasn't a popular model. How could you not want one?! Smiler

Russian TSEK! Eeker One of the hardest BMs to find...
I just love it, the satin blade looks great and I love the textured G-10 handles. Congratulations, right now I am very envious. Wink

I really like my 805 TSEK - enough to overlook the 440C. Now, I don't know... the S30V is more to my liking - as is the blue/black contoured G10. Nice - very nice... I might like that nearly as much as my 710 D2 - my current favorite for EDC (Carrying the 755 may just be a fad...).

For some reason when clicking onto this review I had some hope that the 805 had found its way back to the production line at benchmade.. How foolish of me to think such a thing Roll Eyes Big Grin Nice write up, love the pics, the 805 is indeed a overlooked classic among disco'd benchmades.
