I'll make it short, practically and applicapably I did not notice any clear advantage that the Ritter Griptilian has on my regular 550 that is my "go to", work knife.
BUT, more often than not I always find myself going back and picking it up and putting it in my pocket for some unexplained reason, there is just something about this knife.
Anybody else understand what I am talking about?

I hear what your saying Archer and agree the Ritter grips IMO have alot going for them and make a great EDC. I own two Ritter Grips, one in S30V and the other DLCM4 with Wilkins Grips. I love the stonewash finish Benchmade puts on the Ritter Grips, they remain one of my fav EDC's. The only thing I would change is the handles. I wish Benchmade would offer G10 scales for the Grip's.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do..., no, wait, wrong subject. Wink

Archer, that's a joke that may not work considering your location. It's the tagline for some Dos Equis beer commercials that run on TV and radio here.

Anyway, seriously, I don't always carry a Griptilian, but when I do, it's usually a Ritter Grip. Totally agree with your assessment that, at first glance, there isn't much practial advantage to the Ritter. And yet, for some reason, it feels better in-hand. Maybe it's the extra weight of the blade shape? It is my go-to Grip also.

I can't explain it, either. Maybe it's the stonewashed blade, but I don't know. The differences are subtle, but undeniable.

I love them. I have one of each size in M4 & in M2 and have rescaled all of them. It's definitely the blade style and weight of the blade; that does it for me.
