pretty good comparison. The fact that you pointed out the hardware color is interesting. I can't understand why on all my black spydercos there is so much silver hardware. Changing to black would be a big change for the better in my opinion.

I love the blade on the millie, and how light it carries. For a big knife, you forget you even have it in your pocket. Great grip as well.

I love the 710, but to me it's in a different class than the military

they use the same materials and have the same size allright, but they couldn't have been more different to me...

First thing that comes to mind when describing the 740 is beatiful, shortly followed by smooth. The Mili is a pure breeded workhorse and everything BUT beautiful....

The 740 has the smoothest opening I've ever seen on a liner lock, I can slam it open exactly the way I do with my Axis Benchmades. Opening the Mili requires more wrist motion, the 'marble-shooting' technique used on the Dejavoo is not enough.

Also, the external PB washer & the texture of the G10 scream 'gentleman's folder' to me, while the Mili is as utilitarian as it gets.

Thanks for another comparison. I believe that you're right in stating that BM was going for more of a gentlemen's knife carry with the 740/745, but I still wish BM had done some jimping or something on the handle to ensure a more solid grip on the knife. In the that respect, I believe the Military has the Dejavoo beat.

Chang want a milly but not a large folder get the paramilitary 2/3 the size of the milly same damn thing but smaller.

fasjan I think the OP was trying to compare a knife from each that is currently IN production. I agree the 800/806 afck is a closer match to the milly but, as we all know BM stopped production on the afck..

BRJ: Sorry to have drifted off-topic with the 740 thing, it just seemed like a good comparison over the 710 vs. Millie. Joe
