Hi2all,

as hard to believe as it may be, I'm fairly new to BM and their knives but they are quickly becoming my favorites, particularly the Axis lock models Cool

Recently I purchased the "gold" edition of BM's 551 Griptilian, designated as 551BK-101. The knife is a dream and as much as I love the standard 551, this is definately a cut above in terms of materials and even fit (operation). The action of the blade is smooth and almost silent in comparison to the standard 551. Very nice - this one's a keeper and I won't be selling or trading it, period Wink

I've written a more detailed review over at KF with some juicy pics, like this one Big Grin

cheers 8^)

Full-sized M4 Ritters are no longer available, I'd have to buy it from an external source... .

I do have a standard Ritter (stonewashed S30V) on the way but I won't be hacking up my 551-101; for better or worse, I like it "as is" and won't be modding it. I will however be playing with my regular 551 as well as incoming RSK Mk1 with third-party grips (Wilkins, Cuscadi). Speaking of which, I'm not familiar with "Nirvana" grips; I did a quick search but came up empty-handed, so I'd be grateful for a link, thx Wink

I had a quick look at the 806, nice, but I'd probably go with an 805 if I could find one. Both are a bit bigger than what I usually work with... heck, they're bigger than a 710 and I'd say the 710 is normally my comfort limit with "portable" folders... Razzer

The 805/806 are 5.5" closed, vs. the 710's still manageable 5" - both compared to my favorite size of The Griptilian at 4.5"

Last but not least, you lost me on the "S90V Millie"... anyone care to clue me in, please...? Big Grin

I don't think he meant a grip company named Nirvana, I think he meant nirvana in its literal sense. Grip awesomeness.
