I’m looking to get a plain edge satin version. Hopefully BM will produce that style. They opted not to make the 9101 in a plain edge satin, which of course was the one I wanted Frowner

Well, I had one of the show samples. Unfortunately the person I purchased it from obtained it in nefarious ways and didn't tell me, so BM HQ now has the blade.

What I can tell you was it was an extremely nice blade. Awesome lockup, very fast manual action and the auto action was on par with Microtech DA's. The handles are a grippy rubber and very comfortable in hand. I'll get one when they do come out. The one thing I hope they change is switching to a matte finished blade instead of a powder coat.

The person I bought the knife from had purchased it from one of the sales reps at BM HQ. The knife was supposedly meant to go to a dealer to keep as a sample and not to be sold to the public. Rather than selling to a dealer, the guy at BM sold it to Stormin here on this forum who passed it to me. Stormin had acquired a lot of knives this way, prototypes and show samples, rare things, ect, under dealer cost and was selling them here on this forum, on USN and others.

I dont think so... I don't think he's banned here or on USN, but it got me banned for calling him out on it, among other things (I criticized Emerson knives... apparently that's a no no on USN).

That said, I think we determined that he wasn't necessarily doing anything wrong, but his negligence with his supply stream is certainly questionable and the BM HQ rep was certainly acting out of line selling to the public and friends rather than authorized dealers.
