Those are all problems that can be easily corrected. The liners are made of Ti, idk why anything on the 890 is rusting on yours unless you've exposed it to salt water. The fault videos are usually put up by people who don't know how to adjust the nitrous backstop which is done with the hexagonal stop bar. You just twist a torx screw and you can fix it easily. I will say this, I'm in the process of working on a couple 890's and now that I'm seeing them again after a year, I have to say I really like this knife. Of course it helps that they're getting full moonglow scales and getting drilled and tapped for tip up, but still... it's a cool knife. -Dingo- (\_/) (x.X) (> <) Zombunneh Catch me on YouTube: www.youtube.com/PRSPl4yer Check out my Blog: WillMoonCustomKnives.blogspot.com Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance | Member #12800

Can anybody share with me how to adjust the hexagonal stop bar correctly? I've got two 890's.. one is perfect and the other scares me a lot. The liner lock bar doesn't quite contact the stop pin/bar so there's no tension on it at all. It's pretty odd, but I am afraid to gift the knife as a result (which is what I got it for) -----=====-----=====-----=====----- KnifeRights Member

Carson, grab your T6 and open the blade but not fully, to release the pressure. Loosen up the set screw, and once it's loose you'll be able to rotate the hex stop pin to where you want it. For me it always takes a couple of tries. Once adjusted, open the blade manually/fully (slowly) so the tang snugs against the newly adjusted hex stop pin and tighten the set screw down. You should be good to go. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. Love the knife, clean elegant lines, smooth as silk.Diggin` the back spacer.(Sucker for file work although I think this is MIM part)Have always been a Stiegerwald fan.Popped out of my pocket gettin` out of truck(passenger side, right side strong carry, front pocket, jeans)blade bounced out/open.Thats that for the field.Back in the safe.Has become my "Tuxedo Knife"/picnics. Friut, cheese, summer sausage,....(maybe a spagetti strap) I agree, light to medium use.Was never intended to be a hard user.Love it for what is is.Really enjoy carrying it when I do.Winner in my books. I'm pleased with my 890. I see it as a larger gent's knife. More for looks and less for hard use. I like its simple rustic styling along with the nicely contoured G10 scales. The assisted opening works well and is a fun addition. Overall it is well worth it's price. Only minor complaints. The upper swedge gets very thin in the area right above the thumbstud which digs into your finger as you close the blade and reset the assist. Since it is tip-down this swedge also faces forward in your pocket which can be uncomfortable when reaching for something else in your pocket. The nitrous assist is also somewhat of a distraction to the styling of the knife when viewed from the top of the knife as it creates a break in the liner. _______________________________________________ My wife loves little blue boxes with diamonds in them...
