Just received my knife, LOVE it first of all! I'm sure you guys all know the specs on this bad boy. Here are some pics of it. Blade is very sharp, the point isn't as pointy as I thought it would be but no biggie. The handle is some kind of plastic (valox?) but doesn't bother me whatsoever. It's nice and solid overall. Deploys like it's no one business. Hope the springs hold up though cause I will be flicking the shhhhh out it! Also, I've read about uncentered blades. Is it when it's closed you can notice it, like it pic #2? It goes more to the right when looking straight at it like in the pic. Thanks for looking...

Congrats on your new toy!
Yes, your blade is a hair off center. Few things you want to check now. Does it make contact with the liners when opening/closing? No? Great!
Hold the open knife in one hand, grab the tip of the blade and try to move it side to side and back/forth to check for any play.
If it's too tight or the opposite, you can adjust the pivot tension. Remove the scales and you'll see the adjustment screws. Just 1/32 of a turn at a time should give you enough control to adjust the blade movement.
99.9% of the time it's not necessary (as it shouldn't be with a blade of BM's Blue Class or similar), but I just like to give my knives a little personal attention to "get to know them" better, get a formal introduction (sorta Wink)
Most of all, enjoy your purchase, it's a fun little knife!

Good choice. You get the A/O AND the Axis.

Another fun one is the 580. It's bigger, but just about the fastest A/O I've messed with. There was an issue with the springs on these two knives. If yours breaks, send it in and BKC will replace it with the new improved springs.

Yeah, thanks it's a great lil' blade. No play at all, it's pretty rock solid. Doesn't seem too tight at all, it deploys very nicely with a nasty snap to it!

Doesn't seem to be any contact with the liners but it is awfully close to it when closing and opening. If there were contact, it would scratch the blade, correct? And is this something I can center myself with an adjustment. I need to get me the little blue box tool kit I think or will any small allen wrench do? Thanks so much.

I did read about that spring issue they've had. It was mentioned it was fixed, don't know if I have the upgraded spring or not. I hope I do....I did purchase it off a dealer on eBay. Would BM still honor the warranty even though I didn't purchase it directly from them? Thanks in advance. Now if I can just get the blade centered, it'll be perfect..haha.

I've never seen Benchmade walk away from a warranty repair. If it breaks, send it in.

Yo steelmade,
The allen wrenches do not work. Need to use a torx wrench, it looks more like an astric than an pentagon. if that makes sense. Hope you enjoy your new knife dude .
See Ya
