I would like to know what you guys think about the 522 presidio ultra. The 440C steel, synthetic handles and hollow grind, etc. Thanks! "It is important to fight, and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated." -Albus Dumbledore

Welcome to the forums patruick94. I agree with the previous posts. The 522 is the best value for the money in the Benchmade catalog. I like it much better than the Grip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rick M ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Member-The Society for the Preservation of The AFCK ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Welcome Patruick. The 522 is a great knife for the money. The full liners, Axis mechanism, and excellent 440C blade, along with very strong handle scales, make a package worth looking into. 350, 520, 525, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. I also like the 522 better than the Griptilian. In fact, I prefer the 522 handle with the Valox scales to the aluminum handle on the 520. 440C is excellent steel for a folder that will get real outdoor use, and the hollow grind is quite utilitarian as well. It's a great knife. One of Benchmades best for any price. Certainly one of their top values. 581BK-1102 Hybrid, 585-1BK Mini Barrage, 587SBK-1 Mini Warn, Bradley Alias I LE, 581, 525/Bone Collector, 941BLU, 520BK/Bone Collector, 760Ti Krein Regrind, 583SBK-1 Warn Tanto, HK14210, 707-701, 140HS, 551-101 Gold Grip, 941BC, 950BK M4, 220, 30, 42, 32, 53

The bad @$$ look of the aluminum scales on the 520 is what interests me in the Presidios. What holds me back from getting one is my fear of how I will like metal scales especially aluminum and the fear of how easily the anodizing will wear. _______________________________________________ My wife loves little blue boxes with diamonds in them... I have the mini-Presidio Ultra and love it. Made a little vid of it. I agree with the previous comments about the handle. Its super grippy, more so and then Griptilian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnHvyqRK0jQ
