The sebenza is not for everyone,but i am a knife guru,i showed a full size sebb to a guy today he flipped it open and shut it and handed it back,like itz a knife kinda pissed me off,but i know what works......

I know what you mean...laymen don't appreciate the same knives we do. They think anyone who spends more than $5 for a knife just got screwed. I usually keep it to myself. Otherwise, it's like talking about prairie dog shoots at a coctail party...it's just something you don't talk about. That's my $0.02

The only sebenza I handled was a small one so the answer is yes. But only cause it is bigger. This Umnumzaan opens fairly smooth. It needs a little wrist action when flicking the thumb stud to get it all the way open. I usually just use the thumb stud or holes on all my knives accept the axis locks. Those I use my wrist to close them thats it. I still use the stud or hole to open them though. I hardly ever use the axis flip to open them.

ok, question for anyone who has owned both of them, if you had the money in hand to buy the alias would you go ahead and save for the sebbie anyways?

Yes .... but only because of the blade shape or style ......
Iam thinkin of buyin another Alias and haveing Tom Krein regrind it for me.

Try a Umnumzaan they lock up just the same, like a bank vault, but IMHO the lock release is way better on the umnumzaan. The umnum locks on the frame also. Just Like a strider.

Since you brought up the Umnumzaan....

I'm looking into getting either that or a Strider GG sng if I can't get a custom that I want... Any suggestions? I love the looks of both... Just don't know which way I wanna go yet Cool
