Stings like a Butterfly

I have had the 580 and the 585 for a while now...

I have to say that the Barrage is simply the apex of assisted opening design. As a matter of fact, when I pick up my 912, I feel like I need to be Hercules to open it now!!!

The 580 fires HARD, and frankly is so good it might even be "better" than an auto. The 585 does not fire as hard (blade weight) but is one handsome knife.

Now... Benchmade here is an idea.

Make this knife with G-10 handles and it might just become one of my top 5 favorite Benchmade's ever.

Maybe something easier to sharpen? S30V would be my preference, or M4, or Damascus...

Brilliant!

I'm guessing that BM will put out a premium knife with AO Axis depending how sales go on the 580. It's always wiser to test the waters of a new idea with a lower cost model and see how the public responds.
