Not necessarily Skimo, weather its a leaf, coil or omega spring it will be tempered, try "shortening" it to get more power and re-bending any part of it and they will SNAP! like a potato chip! Eeker (tempering will make it harder, true, but also more brittle to flex).

I think the knife design involved is important. I don't like the 615-2 as much as the 615, but the Mini Barrage fits well with assist.

Anyone who wants to try it out is welcomed to join the 585 pass around, which hopefully should make it easy to decide if you like it or not.

If it's a coil spring there are after market springs, I would never recommend shortening the stock spring, cheapo $3 dollars springs on the other hand... Wink

What I'm wondering is since I can't send an auto with a broken spring in directly, can we simply send these Axis AO's straight up for repair?

And the other question would be how easy would it be to disable these things? My 615-2 can't be flicked, and needs two hands or a pants leg to close. An easy switch off option would be cool.

With a little work, I find it just as easy to close as any other BM.

Really there is nothing to it with a bit of training.

Left side scale comes off and then back off the pivot?

I just purchased two of BM's new AO's. The mini-barrage and the torrent. Both are sweet blades. I really like the AO Axis on the 585. I might buy the big brother just to keep the 585 company!
