I've only ever had one spring break on me, on my 940SBK. Since it was repaired, no issues.

I USE my knives too. Not just for cardboard in this house. And as I've mentioned before in other threads, I have "nervous hands" and constantly flip a knife, a deck of cards, a zippo, etc in my hands. Sounds like we got that in common freefall.

Are you near the coast freefall? Can you see any corrosion on the ones that broke? Other than that, I dunno bud. Confused

I've had one axis spring break in the years of my BMs. One my 942S, it broke about a year ago, but it never compromised the security of the lock, so I just took it out and used it with just one spring, never had a problem with it locking. Anyways I'm glad to hear you've had such great service with BM, even I'm surprised they gave you the Vex, that's pretty outstanding. Also I'm glad to hear you've been patient with BM and consistent.

It may seem frustrating but you're one of the reasons why their customer service is what it is, and gets better because of encounters like yours, it's more experience for them. I think they'll learn from you and others as well how to tweak the axis springs on the Grips and other models, another notch in the learning process for BM. Thanks for keeping up with them and us here on the boards Freefall.

yea, you pretty much can't complain about a company that basically gives you a free knife. however, i keep buying knives trying to find something to replace it, but nothing seems to satisfy my pocket's need for a knife like the mini grip, even though it keeps breaking. i can not seem to replace this knife like i can't seem to replace those old jeans my girlfriend wants me to get rid of. the 556 is just the essence of what a knife should be (just wish the springs would hold out). i wonder if i could get some place to custom make me 20 omega springs... that would be ideal.
