Howdy folks,

Maybe some of the good folks at Benchmade are reading out suggestions, so I thought I'd start a thread about existing models members would like to see changes made to.

Here's mine: The 530. I know it's purpose is an extremely lightweight knife, but if Benchmade kept the blade shape, beefed it up a little, kept the handle shape exactly the same, but made it out of machined aluminum, ala the Infidel, I'd be on that like white on rice.

While I'm blue-skying, make an auto version and I think my head might explode.

What're some other member's ideas?

Best,
Heekma

Make the "decorative jimping" on the axis locks *functional* jimping.

That is all...

I'm looking to buy specific Red, Blue, Black, & Green 940 variants. PM me! Big Grin

id change the 635 from discontinued to in stock, because its just a sweet frame lock and for the price its one of the best for the money.

I like the 530, it was my first Benchmade. I'd change the Axis studs to extend them out a little and get rid of the dishing, which makes it hard to open sometimes. Don't know about aluminum which isn't my favorite material, but a LE version in G-10 could make me buy one or two, and offer the blade in at least S30V like is offered on the 530-901...and make the scales in different colors.

An auto version would be really cool but would change the simplicity of the knife, and we already have a similar model in the 3550.

806: Use the functional jimping on the top of the blade where the other decorative jimping is. reshape the front choil area to have a little rounder of a profile, and add jimping. Move the pocketclip all the way to the end.

556: g10 scales.

710: Functional jimping on the spine.

I'd take the sticking-out-bit off the underside of the Ares' handle, give it CPM-M4 and CF, and then re-issue it as a full production, un-numbered run.

I'd take the 520 and give it the option of some of the new steels. Show the 520 some love BM, you've overlooked it for long enough.
