I was cruising around the Benchmade site looking at the 943 and 940 wishing I had one when I noticed they had placed the 941 or 942 up on the site. I have been curious about them since they were discontinued so I took a look and while the 942 was listed as discontinued the 941 was listed as backordered for the PE and orderable for the serrated. Do you guys know what the deal is? Are they going back into production as the 154CM versions of basically the same knife?

The 941 looks like it is a Cabelas exclusive. At least for the past couple years, it has been available through Cabelas.

Yea I just went into the Cabelas site and saw that they sell the 941. On the benchmade site they list it as 154CM and on the cabelas its S30V. Anyone know which it really is?

That's a good question. Cabelas' site describe the S30V as a steel that was formerly used for the blades of jet turbines, which is not true. That is the description of 154CM. S30V was made specifically for blades.

The 940 v 942 are the same knife, just one is green the other black. Same is true with the 941 v 943.
