John, I sent an e-mail. This very nice guy, Luke, explained to me that the expensive models listed on his site are actually a complete knife, not just the scales. I bought a set of CF scales for the large Grip and a set of ebony scales for the 710. I can't wait to hold them in my hands. I am going to Europe in a couple of weeks so that's where I am having them shipped.

"Sweet, Lorenzol"! Mine are also on there way, just ordered! $85ish I believe it was for the scales plus shipping, $105 USD total. I went for the aero carbon for my BM-551.

Knife Junky, please keep me posted about the scales. Is he making scales for the Griptilians? If so, count me in......... Thanks!

- John Z.

p.s. sorry bro, that's what I meant. I changed it!

Well got an email from Luke saying they are going to start my Griptilian carbon scales and confirming everything. So I decided to change my order to a pair of g-10 pale GREEN scales (St.Patty's Day!), a pair of aramid hybrid scales and a pair of aero carbon.

Now I have to buy some more BM Griptilians for those new handles! I guess I'll try to find a Ritter M2 or is Benchmade coming out with a M4 version?

I am betting on a 75% chance of a Ritter M4 in the next three months, but that is just me. I'll have the custom grips ready for when it finally hits the market.
I have received several e-mails from Luke at Cuscadi concerning a set of custom scales for my 710-801. Those guys are driven, they will do anything to satisfy the customer; I think they truly deserve the name Custom, Luke went even as far as having a prototype of the 710 scales built to give me an idea of how they would look in reality. I know that in the end I'll probably end up buying from them a set of scales for every 710 I own, but still it is very refreshing to see people that are so committed to their work. Besides the Ebony 710 scales I have already ordered, we are working (I mean, they are, I am just giving ideas) on a scale for the 710 that would incorporate the "gunner" pattern of their Griptilian CF scales (I call it the golf ball pattern).
I have extremely high expectations about these products and I will post a full review as soon as I receive the first samples.

Well they shipped my order about a week ago, so it's been close to a month. I have 4 sets coming, all different handle materials. I paid through paypal and so far it's went smooth, just a little longer than I thought it would be. Cost was $80ish per set with shipping. Will post some pic's when they come in.

I also picked up some Lg. Wilkins Grips, nice quality and fit was spot on, but pricey. I thought the Wilkins Grips looked a little large for a regular BM-551 blade. So I bought a Ritter Grip, it looks a lot more proportional with that blade. Well see how the Wilkins compare to Cuscadi.de at about half the price.
