I never had any rust problems with the BM D2. Just wipe it clean (on my jeans) after each use. __________________________ * Allen Elishewitz Preservation Society Founding Member #3 * Brotherhood of the 420 & Viceroy of the Knights of the Gravitator Member * Lum Lunatics Charter Member #15 * President of the Gentleman Society for the Preservation of the 960 Innova * Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance Member #2 * Blackwood Society member #610 Red, Blue and Black Class, Pre-Productions, Limited Editions

Yea,its a carbon steel unlike 154CM;stainless,so in theory should be more apt to rust.More moisture/salt sensitive but never had a prob w/ mine.Just wipe em down, finger prints, moisture, ect and should be good to go. XIII AKTI Blackwood Society

I use all my knives in the kitchen, including D2, and have no rust issues. They get wet and same as Ken I just wipe the blades dry with a soft cloth. Cutting bony meats like chicken, I have nicked 154CM blades but never D2. So yeah treat it like 154CM, or better yet USE the thing! 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. This whole rusting issue is purely academic, in reality, like everybody sais, there is no noteable rust issues. One thing you take note of, when cutting something acidic like citruse fruits, tomatos or whatever, rinse the blade with water or wipe it with a damp cloth or it will stain the metal.

The best way to keep a knife from rusting is to use it hard and put it up clean. -.- Looking for 558DLCM4-500 number 029 and 520BK-1101 number 99
