Good evening all, First off, been lurking a while but finally decided to post up and say hi, so HI! Been a fan of edged tools for many years, but the collecting bug hit me hard over the last few months. After so many years of looking and admiring I am now getting around to picking up all the classic steel I wish I had acquired over the years. The particular item that got me posting today I finally found (and picked up) an old Stryker that first caught my fancy back around the turn of the millenium. Didn't get it then because I couldn't find it in the material I wanted, but finally did a couple of weeks ago. And no, I didn't acquire it to put it in a vault and leave it alone. I bought a user with the intention of carrying and using it. But now, I am very curious as to approximately year to would have been produced. I know it is an early one, but no idea just how early. Anyway, enough talking, here's a few pics... So, any ideas as to the 'vintage'?

It is an early model since it says M2HS on the blade and not M2HSSR. They changed later to M2HSSR to denote that it had serrations. I don't know the exact year but it is one of the first years that they made the 910 with M2 steel. IIRC the 910 came out in 1998? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Maybe 1999 or 2000 is the vintage for your knife? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lunatics I salute thee!! http://i248.photobucket.com/al.../M2HSSR/bdd5b559.jpg Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance | Member #22

I believe M2HSSR has it right. I've seen 910's that were labeled pre-production stuff at 1998. I suspect your knife was made in 1999-2000 as well. I've got an 800SBT that's labeled M2HSS on the back which I believe I bought in 2000. I recently acquired the exact same knife as yours and had been wondering about just when it was made Welcome to the forum! -----=====-----=====-----=====----- KnifeRights Member

Thanks for all the welcomes, from my readings in the past I already knew that was a good group of people here And thanks for the replies as well. The knife has definately been a user in it's past life, but has stood up very well for what now appears to be a 13 or 14 year old knife. And I just love that Bali-Song logo, nice and clean looking. I have some work to do with it to get it ready for daily carry; detail cleaning/lube, tightening of the pocket clip, and a good sharpening. I suspect that the decision to part with it by the previous owner may have influenced by the sharpness (or lack thereof) of the M2. But no worries, I know just how to take care of that... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 140, 211, 350S, 440, 520-1102, 525, 580-1002, 581, 710 D2, 770, 885-08/00, 910HS, 910S, 912, 940, 943, 14100, 14460 Soon ( not soon enough ), 2012 Forum knives...

One other note I meant to mention earlier... When I was looking for a 910, I knew that there were a few fakes and counterfits running around out there. But some reading up in the fakes section, and the responses from you all, gave me the knowledge I needed to avoid a potentially pricey pit fall. Thanks for that too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 140, 211, 350S, 440, 520-1102, 525, 580-1002, 581, 710 D2, 770, 885-08/00, 910HS, 910S, 912, 940, 943, 14100, 14460 Soon ( not soon enough ), 2012 Forum knives...
