I had an old eccentric pivot Military and it had phenolic bushings (redish washers). The eccentric pivot was a good technology, IMO.

Comparing liner-locks, I have found the action of the Benchmade 800 knives I own to be equivalent to the Military models I own. Of late, I have noted that the Military knives seem to have a more positive ball detent (the "keep it closed" mechanism).

i have a millie and i love it but it isnt nearly as easy to open as my any of my benchmades. Mine broken in pretty well but it still doesnt open as easy. I kinda feel like spyderco need to get a lil more inovative with its locks and opening feature, just my opinion. I love their g-10, i love their steels, but i dislike their opening feature and locks, however their lockbacks are very strong.

Spyderco has some pretty out there locking systems. The Caged Ball Lock is pretty techie.

The reality is, the Axis is pretty much the lock to beat. It got it right.

I'm right there with you on the Axis. No question, the best lock out there!!! Nothing wrong with the liner, but it IMO it just doesn't compare.
