Every BM I own can be easily flicked open one handed, but every one I own is an axis lock as well. I have a lot of spydercos. None are as smooth as the axis lock for sure. I do like teh militarys though.

I don't currently own any Spyderco's, I can't complain about their quality, but many of the models I am interested in, they do not make ambidextrous yet, and I have yet to find a system that comes close to the AXIS lock!

Benchmade's liner locks are pretty glassy smooth. The 740 Lum I have feels like it has been greased.
That being said, the Spyderco Military opens just fine, and is a very worthy design. ----------------- Current President Brotherhood of the 420 & Viceroy of the Knights of the Gravitator. SPTA Founding Member. Allen Elishewitz Preservation Society Founding Member #5. Lum Lunatics First Mate. |

it may depend on the millie: i can spyderdrop my BG42 quite easily, while on the S30V i tightened the pivot in order to center the blade and the action is rough even after some militec
none of them opens as smooth as my benchmades - it may have to do with the size of the washers?? ------------------------------ Only when the last tree has been fell, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned will you know that man cannot eat money? Lum Lunatics Charter Member #23 |

My Millie is pretty damn smooth (no rough spots so far as I can tell).
My Snody Hybrid (the one that I use to compare it with, since it's a liner lock like the Millie) is Uber smooth, like it's on glass or something. -Jon Sixburgh,PA |

Over the holiday, DJ was responsible for me ordering up a CF Military in BG-42. At least he gets the blame when I have to explain it to my wife. It will be fun to compare the CF to the CF on my Benchmades. It will also be nice to try my first BG-42 blade.

You'll find a huge difference in the CF, especially with the CF military. Incredibly grippy, peel ply CF |
