I have been collecting BM's for years now, but I have always collected fixed blades and Autos. I have a cheaper axis lock folder, and wasn't that impressed. I have always thought that the thumb studs take away from the attractiveness of the knife, that is why I prefer Autos. I must say, I WAS WRONG!! I picked up a 930 Kulgera yesterday and the knife is AWESOME!! I can open this knife quicker than it takes to open an auto, and it closes so easy. I am very impressed to say the least. I see a 940 in the future as well. FEED THE ADDICTION!!

I hear ya. I bought my best friend a satin plain edge kulgera for his birthday this summer. Actually, I bought the kulgera and a mini-dejavoo, wrapped them both, and told him he could open both but keep one. Makes spending $140 on a blade for a friend easier if you get to keep one too lol. Anyway, he gave it back to me recently to reprofile it on the edge pro, and after playing with it for a bit, I got a little bummed that I didn't end up with it lol. Really smooth little knife. Just oozes quality out of everywhere. I see an identical one making its way into my sock drawer soon. __________________________________ Benchmades, Spydercos, Microtechs, MCUSTAs, and an old rusty AK bayonet.

For me, the 930, 94x & 960 knives have been "so close" yet a slight miss. The 930 has the computer-milled G-10 handle which I like, but the designer left some areas of the liners "not covered" by the handle scales. Someone ought to try making a custom handle that covers the entire liner and see how that looks and feels. The 940's & 943's (of which I've owned several) don't have full liners like the 930, and probably because of that, for the most part, Benchmade has gone with the anodized Aluminum handles (which don't need full liners) but they also don't have the durability of G-10. They did make a special run of a nice CF handle, but those are rare, and usually end up in collections instead of getting used. The 960 is too slick and (at least the red ones) scratch too easily to really turn my crank. My suggestion would be to fix the 940 and 943 handles to a CNC milled G-10 and do it as a regular production item or a large LE run. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who loves the size and shape of these knives yet stays away because of the deficiencies in the handles. Although surely some of the most popular models in the Benchmade lineup, with a few small fixes, these Osborne knives could be more popular than ever. That's just my $0.02 worth. This message has been edited. Last edited by: fastjan, ********************** ********************** You are the Sum of Your Actions. Knife Rights Member
