Or .....are we talkin pre-order here ??

Sorry DJ, didn't see your question. It says "pre order" but it required putting down $129.07. I believe that is the full amount...and it ain't on the way yet, so I am just curious as to when the anticipated release will be. No big rush, just curious.

B-Man, I'm waiting for mine too. I haven't heard anything about release dates.

Are there any really good pictures of this knife? I looked back through this entire thread and couldn't find a single picture of an 810 Contego.

I've only seen pics of the SBK version, hoping some more will come out soon, specifically the clear cerakote in PE

If you get one marked first production, you will have no problems trading with someone later. The first production run may be what, 1000? It may take a while to get past that label.

On the small deposit versus the full amount, I was told recently by one of the helpful ladies at KW that if delivery was expected real soon on a production knife, then they approved the full amount. If it was something "special" like the AFCK that is coming in with no particular schedule, then they waited on approving the card. I could easily have misunderstood. I do not play a doctor on TV. YMMV.

I love my Rift, and this looks very interesting with a similar design. However, the last 2 knives with blades in the 4" range just didn't feel that right to me, so I think I would have to handle this one before making a decision. Of course, with a knife budget for only one knife (the Forum Knife), it may have to wait unless I can find some more things to sell.

I am really looking forward to feedback about this knife after it hits the streets...but I won't be the first kid on my block to get one.

Well, TB, I ordered one. I'm looking forward to it. If I have a concern about it it's maybe with the hollowed out underside of the handle. They really cut a serious arch there. That might be the greatest thing ever or it could possibly have been overdone. I guess I won't know until I hold one, but MCM and others who have held them didn't think that feature was worth mentioning, so it must be fine.

Is it cool that the kinfe has a super steel blade as a regular production knife? Oh yeah. Smiler
