I want something on the blade signifying that it is a BM “Forum Knife” with a date of production. I also want them numbered sequentially.

Since we’ve discussed the other characteristics of the “forum knife”, why not this? Wink

What B-Man said. Keep it simple but make it special too.

I can't believe that we finally get a chance to have Benchmade make us a forum knife, after 11 years and this is the best we can come up with...... a 710 or a Rift???? Confused

Couldn't be more boring.

Even the Shot Show knife is more exciting than what we've come up with.

Wow! I'm so excited. I want two!

Or do we want to take the money we'd spend on two knives and get one like this

I'm cool with some Damasteel, never had any and it would make for a very special forum knife. The price might leave some folks out though, and I think the one of the goals is to make this knife "affordable" to most of the members. I don't know if it'll catch on, but I'd be in.

Here is the scoop.
No wood on the Rift.
No linen Micarta on the Rift.

G-10 OK on both
CF OK on both might take a bit longer, but OK on both.
Paper Micarta OK on both

Wood or micarta would be my first choices.

There have been several grey and black handled G10 and CF Axis Benchmades to choose from over the years, and still are today. Since paper micarta comes mainly in only black or white, I'm gravitating toward the 710 which could be done in a nice wood or micarta. I suppose there might be something of interest in a non-grey or black G10 that would work for the Rift, but we already have grey and black G10 (Rift), green and black G10 (BC), and blue and black G10 (various).

Wood, green canvas or linen micarta, and a few other micartas would be both different and attractive. I'm hoping for something that looks reasonably different than the typical dark scaled Benchmade Axis folder. However, since I've sold or given away most of my dark scaled Benchmades, I'll likely buy whatever is decided upon.

A knife that is made once every 11 years should be something very special.

That it might cost more than a production knife should be of little concern to most of the forum members, considering their collections.

That they might have to buy one knife instead of two is a small price to pay for a forum knife that is going to represent the "Benchmade forum".

The knife we choose is a reflection of ourselves and Benchmade. I don't think either choice is good enough to be a reflection of this forum or Benchmade.
