Skimo, all of the satin bladed knives in my collection show finger smudges. I usta carry an extra eyeglasses cloth around to wipe the blade off and eventually stopped doing that. Seems while it looks funky finger oil doesn't stain anything for good. At night I wipe 'em down before putting them away.

With all the various finishes and waxes we could put on the blade, I use mine for food prep a lot and only use clean mineral oil if anything, and not very often. I'd worry about using anything else. WD-40 tastes terrible! Big Grin

If you're like me (and I'm sure you're not (I'm a bit strange)). I have my butler follow me around with an umbrella a velvet pillow and my EDC on said velvet pillow.

May I suggest you do the same.

BTW Joe, WD-40 may taste bad but smells great.

I may be repeating someone else here before me but have you tried either WD-40 or Goo Gone?

BTW Excellent point Axis-Nut I would love it if BM included a small polishing cloth with their knives. I got a Case polishing cloth awhile ago and I love using that on the knives. Just sell em 3 for 5 bucks or something, I'd buy a ton.

One more ques.......whats the diff bettween marine tuff cloth and reg. tuff cloth ???
I got the reg.

Tuf-cloth smells a little like crayons, marine tuf-cloth smells a lot like crayons. I guess it's just the same stuff more concentrated. The tuf cloth is really great for cleaning smudges and tape scum etc.

From what I understand the tuf cloth is just a cloth with tuf glide on it.

Let us know how you like it.

Its excellent ....... dj
I have a story here to tell about smoothing out the action of a 710-801.........I,ll try to make this short , so I have a 710 that felt like it was rubbing on the inside (washers warp or something not flat) so I took my edge pro ultra fine stone and rubbed it on the pivot hole on the blade (both sides) then used the polishing tapes and rubbed them on it. I did the washers the same way on the polishing tapes only. Tuff clothed it the tuff glided it and put it back together ...............
Man what a difference ......its as smooth now as most of my BM,s.
I used to use sand paper to polish the washers but it just left them scratched up , the polishing tapes super smoothed them.
And yes Tuff cloth stinks but works well ....... and the smell DOES NOT STAY THERE , it disapates away ...... dj
