So I finally picked up a Griptilian 551 yesterday. Having fun flipping it open and closed. Sure is a nice knife! Does flipping the knife closed damage the blade? | ||

Out of lots and lots of Axis knives, I've only had one knife that was actually harmed by flipping the blade open and closed. It was a 940BK and there was a problem with the knife. If your Griptilian shows signs of rubbing the blade against the handle somewhere on the blade like blunted edges on the blade or grooves cut in the back of the handle, you should return it to Benchmade for warranty work. -----=====-----=====-----=====----- KnifeRights Member | |||

Thanks for the info. I was concerned about the blade edge hitting the little shiny metal bar inside the handle. This 551 is the first of what I plan on being a large collection of Benchmade knives. | |||
