What is the coolest Benchmade in production right now? What I mean is, what is the WOW factor to you and why. Is form and function? Is it the look of the knife? Please limit your responses to in production knives, no LE's and gold class. Auto's and Bali are welcome.

I will start by saying my overall pick would be the 32 morpho. The look of the knife is out of this world for a production Bali or any knife for that matter. Sandwiched jeweled Ti liners, great looking G-10 scales, nice blade shape, good steel, decent flipper for its size, and a pocket clip. The only thing that would make it better would be if it was a 4" blade. I think that it would make for a nice blade heavy flipper.

The WOW factor would go to the 3300 infedel. Being a OTF just makes it cool right there. Also the dagger blade makes it look really mean and nasty. It would be a close race though between the Infedel or a 610 Rukus just because of its sheer size.

So lets here what turns your crank?

I don't know if I'd put the Large Folding Knife up for either 'coolest' or 'wow' but it is one of the most fun knives.

If you've never done it, find one in person and open and close it. The way that little tail flips out to catch the blade and then tucks itself back into the handle makes most guys laugh like an idiot.

Trust me, I've run tests.

I honestly can't even tell you if these are still in production, but for me, I really like the looks of the BM 630...Some folks call it the rainbow pattern, some boxes just have "Disco" hand written on the outside. Cool

How does that pocket clip work out for you? Is it too high in the pocket or do you get used to how it rides?

Well , theres about an inch of the knife exposed , when its sittin in your pocket. It is a little much maybe but you dont have to dig it out of your pocket , thats for sure.
I kind of got used to it , it doesnt bother me at all really .........I had to look just now so I could answer better.
Yah so ........it comes out of your pocket way eassier ........its still my favorite BM , looks an quality (todays production that is)

950. I think that it is the best knife Benchmade has ever made. I know this goes against the teachings of the Cult of the AFCK, but that's my story. Feel free to follow me and bow at the altar in "The Super Secret Society of the 950 Rift". Cool

Why does it have to be limited to just "in production" knives Big Grin

In that case, I don't know... I really like the 950 for its rugged looks, great blade shape and feeling in the hand.. And at the opposite end of the spectrum I like the 960 because its just beautiful, perfectly machined, great steel for edc, and flicks open so easy and smooth... Both have the Axis lock, too... That helps Smiler

Now if I may be permitted to break the rules for a moment, the 420 is the all-time winner for me.. Just looks awesome... Love those overlays on the big wide handle... Love the blade shape (gothic swedge or whatever its called) with the reverse tanto... Great all around steel, and of course the axis lock.. Its just a bad ass knife, wish it was still in production Blue Class
