Finally I received my 275BK.

I am very pleased with it. It is a serious knife. I think its in the same class with the mini-rukus as it is a hard use substantial knife. Excellent balance, grippy jimping & finger groove. Contoured G10, mostly open back spacer.

Numbered through 1000. The website says Limited Edition, but the knife says first production.

I spoke with Benchmade and they said only 1000 black handled knives would be made initially. Then the Sand handled ones would be unlimited production and then sometime next year the black handled ones will probably be released for standard production.

Handled one today. It is a very big knife built for serious business. Probably not easy to carry in the pocket but nevertheless a real nice knife. Haven't decided if I'll buy one yet.

The black blade is a deal breaker for me. I like the design and would be interested if they release a satin finish version

Waiting on the tan, I like big serious knives.

That and D2 (to a lesser extent) kills my interest.

I never met Strueker, I think he was four when I volunteered. If I were still in that line of work, I would have a bunch of these knives. I have not developed any particular steel fetishes, but I am prejudiced against combo blades for my uses. Again, for active service, black would rock, but I prefer shiny satin for personal use. Given my background I should want one or three of these. I am a little meh though and not sure why.
