Actualy Mark G., by the time the police get there it's pretty clear who the shooter is - he's the one lying on the ground with a gun near him while you - and the rest of the CCW crowd should have re-holstered by now.

Or are you planning to engage in a 5 - 10 minute (minimum) shootout?

Yea, it is a good bet it will take time for police to arrive.

My concern would be all the "good guys" trying to figure out who the "bad guy" is, when 20 people have guns. It could be a problem.

Then again, we could just look for the guy in all black. Smiler

I think if citizens were armed, there would not be the shooting in the first place--the cowards would shrink from that. For some strange reason, people don't seem to lose their tempers at gun ranges? I believe shootings involving armed citizens where confusion and secondary engagements would have the propensity to occur would be rarer than the masacres we now experience. I hate that we continue to be disarmed under the guise of public safety.

As for the reseponse RE the 4th amendment (dj you dissappointed me) earlier, I feel we are missing a full understanding of the constitutional right. The 4th affords freedom from unjustified search and seizure--not freedom from search and seizure pro bono. If there is justifiable cause, no right has been infringed. I beleive the search and seizure of foreign citizens and visa holders during a time of war that look, act, or conduct business like terrorist can and should be justifiably searched and their assests seized. No one is crapping on the 4th.

As for my slandering in the initial post, I'm sorry--I was highly irritated by the thought of a TSA agent confiscating my favorite nail clippers in the name of Government provided security--dang that ticks me off--what crap--my immediate reaction to said irritation caused me to blame liberals, for which I blame pretty much all things I find unfavorable--isn't that what the two parties are good for?

I'm not sure I know what a dickbutt is, but I got a feeling it is somekind of queer thing, which pretty effectiveley pisses me off. But what am I gonna do?

Guess I'll go see if anyone is selling anything good. Be nice guys, keep your guns and knives and pens and clippers, and keep the forum cool.

I totally understand what you're saying, but the Patriot Act is what I'm talking about... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_PATRIOT_Act
like I said earlier, I'm not taking sides... and I'm also not taking any of this BS... Wink

remember the news story about all those little fundamentalist christian kids in TX getting taken away from their homes and their parents? with the law rolling up in tanks? Eeker all because of unfounded "evidence"? Frowner

thanks to the Patriot Act, anytime you travel in America, you could be taken aside, be handcuffed, chained and interrogated, then thrown into a secret prison in a foreign country, without being charged with a crime, without being able to notify anybody about what's happening, without access to a laywer. You could then be kept in a freezing cell, kept from sleeping, and be drowned over and over again... you could even be tortured to death. And it's all perfectly legal.

The official line is no.
You can take a chance that the TSA won't realize - but it comes under the term "sharps" which is now used at airports.
