The BM catalogue says: "This compact fixed blade was designed in collaboration with elite military airborne personnel," which begs the question: For what purpose? Does anyone know the history of this design?

Original Nim Cub 145 was designed by Allen Elishewitz. the only difference I saw in the new 147 version was new (crapier) sheath, new (cheaper) handle scales, bad jimping, and {arguably the only contribution to the design) larger choil. If those changes were contributed by

the redesign was done with weightloss being the foremost change, hench the new "airborne" specification for the nim cub II, or the name "nim cub lite" as the prototypes were called. ------------------------------

This question appeared recently on another forum. My response will be similar to the one I posted before. The sheath isn't the knife, even ordinary troops modify their gear if they feel it isn't up to par. As far as the jimping and choil, I don't know. There is absolutely NO reason for BM to lie about its military contracts. I think we can all be on the same page about this and the AFOs still in use by our troops. The purpose is for a reduction in weight. ( as 910 posted ) Also it's not specified if it's from separated or retired personnel, chalk it up to a small mystery. This message has been edited.
