Hey Joe! It seems likely that this would be my issue. I don't know how a small drop would have been enough to throw it out of adjustment that easily. I'll try this and let you guys know. I had no idea that was meant for adjustment but makes total sense. Thanks a ton, it is much appreciated.

Joe, your response makes complete sense. Thanks for all the quick responses, everyone. You guys rock! I'm going to give it a shot at realigning it and tightening it back up in the morning since I don't have my torx wrench set with me. This forum is awesome. It must have been real loose right out of the box and I just didn't notice. I will say, I love the knife. The g10 scales are great and the d2 is seriously sharp. I wanted a plain edge tanto but since this model was discontinued, I just took what I could get. This message has been edited. Last edited by: apexrush,

Good Pics. I agree with J_K. If the main pivot screw is loose the adjustable hex stop pin is also probably loose and has moved out of position. Make sure the blade opens against one of the "flats" on the hex stop pin. You should be able to find one that allows it to lock open. Then tighten everything down. Good Luck.

Thanks, guys! After adjusting the stopper pin and the pivot screw, it is back in action. One thing that worries me with this knife is that the pivot screw has to stay somewhat loose in order for the knife to open/close. If I tighten it even a bit more than slightly snug, the knife is practically shut solid. Is the best thing to do in this situation use thread lock? If so, what kind? Thanks for all your help, it's greatly appreciated. Ben

Hi Ben, sometimes the difference between the pivot being too loose OR tight is a really small window. To keep the pivot where you want it I prefer BLUE Loc-Tite, the 242 formula. Some prefer to use a small bit of plumber's tape wrapped around the pivot bolt threads, that is faster and cleaner...it boils down to simple preference. If using the liquid version and with the knife closed, remove the bolt with your T10 driver, wipe any oil residue off the threads, apply only a drop or two, reinsert the bolt and find that sweet spot between tight and loose. You'll have plenty of time before it dries. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100.
