I have a 950-1 Rift and I really like the knife and I was wondering does the blade on the regular issue Rift have the same finish. The finish on mine is a dull gray finish, does the regular issue version have the same blade or does it have a shiny blade?

It's the same on both. The blade of CF handled 950-801 has the same finish as well.

Same dull finish that is common to the 154CM blade.

I have handled quite few 950 Rifts. The satin blades all have the same dull gray finish, I'm sure, that you're referring to.

I believe most, if not all, of the BM Black Class blades have the dull gray finish to them. I can only assume it's so that light doesn't reflect off the blades so much, seeing as how they are intended more for military and LEO use.

Unlike VG-10 where you can signal the space shuttle by reflecting the Suns rays in its mirror finish.
----------EDIT-------------
In reality, this makes no sense since you can't see the space shuttle with the Sun up fully. Smiler

I often use my Endura to admire my good looks.
Cool

I believe that is what is referred to as the stone washed or tumbled finish.

The dull gray finish makes it more "tactical".

Isn't the stonewashed/tumbled finish what the non-coated Ritter Grips have?

The finish on the Ritter blades is probably my favorite. Or possibly the polished look BM used to use (on the likes of the 914FS or 180). The dull grey, satin, whatever they call it is definitely my least favorite blade finish from Benchmade. Looks alright on some models, but I'd still prefer something else.

Correct Zven, the finish is a 'satin' coating.
