I am looking for a folder to handle the abuse a soldier doles out.
I'm considering the 610, 710, and the 950.
Something that won't chip easily and is just tough as nails.
What say the experts?

610/615 would be my choice by far.

I think the 520 would be another great model to bring to the field. It has a solid lockup and a badass feel to it.

Welcome czgunner.

Out of the choices you offered, I would say the 710. I have the 710 and it performs any task I put before it. I don't have a 610 so I can't comment on it, but I'd say the pocket clip on the 710 has more strength than the 610. So if you do decide to go with the 610, my recommendation would be to get a sheath.

Like Mystik said, the 520 is quite a beast if you haven't already considered it. I'd say it's right up there with the 710, except the 520 would win more points with me for ease of sharpening.

I'm no expert but the HK 14205 might be a good choice.

The 615 is quite tankish, in my opinion... I can only assume the 610 would be even more so!

If grip is important to you, no other knife, Benchmade or otherwise, has fit my hand as good as the 615...

IMO, the 610 is too big, the 950 is more of a chopping blade and not the greatest for stabbing. The 710-801 would be my choice. Short of that, a 710D2 would be fine. It's proven.

Out of what you listed I would go with the 710...but as others mentioned take a peek at the 520, it means business.
