I was just on the Cuscadi site again,I already contacted Luke about some custom Grips that I'd like him to make when it occured to me that BM may want to consider a collaboration between the two companies!I think it's a win-win for everybody,BM sells knives to them for customization,we get our dream models and Cucadi gets more business too, makes perfect sense to me.

No offense to Mr Wilkins as I know he reads the forum, but I myself do custom work on a MUCH smaller scale and I just like Cuscadi's work a lot better, more choice of options and a willingness to make yours truely custom for you.

I wonder if Les would consider a venture like this?It would give us access to custom BM models and possibly a US source to order from as well?(hope so!) Big Grin

I like the idea of Benchmade offering different scale options for griptilians, but I don't know if Cuscadi is the right company to partner with. I'd probably prefer Wilkins.
While I agree that Cuscadi offers a more custom-feeling experience, I have seen many instances where the fit and finish of their scales is less than ideal.
As Benchmade is a company known for its precision machining and consistent fit and finish, I don't see a partnership working out unless Cuscadi really steps up its game.

I've never held one in person, but judging by their gallery I don't see any problem, the finished product just looks more well thought out to me.Scales only may be slighly different, but keep in mind, even production, computer designed pieces can have very slight variations in the real world,of course it's better to have the actual knife the scales will be fit to but not always convienient or possible/cost effective.

IMHO as someone who's familiar with doing custom work and working with tight tolerances I still think Cuscadi is a better choice if it ever happened, looks to me like they are larger and can handle the work load easier too,IIRC Mr Wilkins has just one shop helper?maker?
