The limited edition model 710DLC-1 most certainly is coated with DLC. The prep process we used was slightly different than previous products that have featured DLC. In the case of the 710, we sandblasted the blades before coating to create a smooth texture. The resulting aesthetics are a little different (less gloss), but there is no change in performance.

I noticed that too. I was thinking about getting a back-up. Maybe he received them in lots rather that all at once. If that's the case, he may be re-stocking at some point.

Snagged a stray satin this morning - either a cancellation or a customer return. Looking forward to it arriving with my Ti/G10/M4 RIL from another maker! Big Grin

When I called to get my satin finish on Monday they had 7 left. I guess they go quick.
So I got a BLK version and the satin. I hope they arrive soon. I'm in Canada so I'm thinking it will be a couple of weeks.

I do wish the DLC blade had the rounded spine of the stone wash version. My stone wash version is poorly finished - the scratch pattern is heavy and looks like it's been in my pocket w/ keys for a few years.

Both clips are pretty poor in my opinion - the sides of both clips are heavily pitted and the there are four clearly visible spots on the sides where the clip was connected to a mount or other metal. I assume the DLC clip is parkerized and it came "pre-scratched". I really wish BM would DLC or powder coat the clips. I paid $20 extra to DLC the blade, adding the clip to the mix can't be that much more and it would look much nicer, match the blade, and be durable.

The G10 on both feels much grippier than the regular stuff - no idea why. I like it a lot. Oddly, the lanyard hole on both of mine still has g10 material in it and had to be punched out leaving a rough edge.

Might sound like I'm complaining (OK - I am complaining) but overall I'm happy. I'm just annoyed that it seems like a little bit of extra care could have made these really top notch knives...

My clip is the same, which is a real shame for the LE knife. I'd expect better from BM. Frowner

Haha..you're going on a little 710 tear aren't ya? I've still got that 710 in M2 if you're still interested. It's a tough one to let go, but between the M4 model and this new M390, I just don't see myself carrying the M2 anymore.

On another note, was it Roger's idea to make the print on the blade smaller? Good idea...

Is 710 M2 still available? If it's plain edge I'm interested.

Maybe you can get one on the secondary market but it's very unlikely to find a new one at a dealer.

Regarding the clips: The clips provide a lot of grip to me - and the polished one from a 707 LE is less grippier than the parkerized ones... I wouldn't want a glossy/polished clip for EDC.
Of course it's not that great if the clip looks terrible, but for me the function is a very important thing, too.
