On another note, was it Roger's idea to make the print on the blade smaller? Good idea...

Discontinued years ago, so secondary only...three here...you can't afford them. Wink Seriously, I think my M2 710s and Grips are better made than my M4 710 and Grips, and in the real world don't perform very differently than their Benchmade M4 counterparts. Frowner

I'd be happy to get one used one (not from the safe) in good condition and to pay reasonable price for it (let's say the price of a new D2). I'm sure there isn't much difference in the real world (my D2 is a beast), but since EVERYBODY is singing it's praise I'm intrigued.
So what can I do to persuade you to part with one? Big Grin

P.S. I might get titanium scales & barrel spacers for 710!!! Cool

That would be nice, I dislike the limited edition written on the blade. Why can't the place it close to the thumb stud, out of the business area.
Actually the trend these days to write on the blade is peeing me off. BM's logo is way to big in my opinion. Than all the patents, designers, etc. Why can't they keep it down to basics, put a small logo, type of steel (this one BM does to my liking) and that's all. They even stamp the clip with the name of the company.

Nothing, actually, sorry Smiler I'm not sure about "user" pricing. These don't come up for sale very often here and I don't bother checking BF BST forums any more (bad for my wallet). There was a user M2 here a while back for $170 IIRC and I think NIB M2 710s are in the $250-275 range depending on who's selling and whether the blade is PE or PS. Not sure whether the D2 price comparison has legs?

FWIW, an online used dealer is showing a 710 and 710BT in 154Cm, a 710HS and a 710 LE of some type. The 710, 710BT and 710HS are all "mint" with box and each is $150.

I'd love to know more about your post JNewell.

Also can you explain what those names for all the different 710's mean?
I don't know what he BT or HS mean.

Thank you.

They are just suffixes to describe details of that particular knife, in the above case,

BT is a blade coating, meaning that 710's blade is coated with benchmade's BT coating.

HS stands for high speed, meaning the blade was made with m2 high speed steel.

Check out this link and there is a break down of a lot of the different product codes BM uses in their knives.

Wow...from your sig line you only own 710's?

'BT' (black Teflon) is a blade coating and 'HS' stands for high-speed, another name for M2 tool steel.
