I have no idea what they are called, so I listed the title as parts. (sorry)

Do you guys think it would do damage to the g-10 to remove the parts pressed and/or glued into the g-10 non-lock side that the screws thread into? Any ideas or tips on removing these? I would like to have them DLC treated. Thank you.

I believe the part you're referring to is the back spacer. Once you take the the screws out, the back spacer should come off... you may have to work it free. Hope this helps some.

I don't think I would call it a backspacer, as what I would normally call the area of the backspacer is a combo g10 scale and backspacer. To better explain, it is the metal pivot thing on the non-lock side and three metal screw accepters on the non-lock side.

Those are called "chicago screws" and I believe they are press fitted into G10.

I see what you're referring to. Like Rx stated, they're press fitted. I believe "Kraid" from here on the forums used Rit black dye to blacken his handle. You may have to have the whole piece coated as is ...unless someone will chime in that knows if the two pieces seperate.

Thank you both for your help!

I would assume that if I were able to remove the chicago screws, that it would damage the g-10?
