To me, Mark G's M4 806 was a forum knife.
Minus the xtra writing.

With any luck an 805 in M390 will turn out the same way.

Mark G's M4 804 was through BM.
Might be easier getting it as an LE from a dealer. Either way would be very cool!
Fingers crossed.........

S90v Please......

One dealer pitched the idea of an 806 in M4 to BM numerous times and they always told him "No." Then they turned around and did the run themselves. Go figure.

The 806-901 was actually distributed through Benchmade's dealer network. I know on dealer wanted to do a knife similar to this knife and was turned down. I am not privy to why they did that in this case.

In discussions I had with folks at Benchmade towards the end of the "901" project, they were happy to be able to make this knife for us, and they were happy with the interest it had, and the impact it had upon the dealer network. Folks had to reach out and find dealers they may never have known. It was a win/win for everyone. But to make it clear, Benchmade did not distribute this knife directly. The original forum knife, I believe, was distributed by Benchmade themselves.

Yes, in many ways, the 806-901 was a forum knife of sorts.
