It should be. I don't know why it was discontinued, though. I managed to purchase one before they became extremely hard to find (paid a lot for it too). Very nice knife... It almost feels like a custom.

They're also going up in prices like crazy.

Yeah they will be a classic. I got a 635 before they go crazy. IMHO the 635 will be more of a classic then the 630 cause most everyone can use a 635.

Wow. I had no idea that they made two different prototypes, much less that they had one with 3 holes instead of 4. The 3 holes look better, IMO.

You might see a 4 hole Proto but finding a 3 is harder than finding the Holy Grail. Great pics Florijn. (Once again!)

I love the 630. I just had a funeral to preform so that means I get a new knife!!!

I had my eye on a 635SBK. Got one for a pretty good deal. I have had that on my list of knives to get for sometime. I have some sentimental reasons why I like the 635, and that is why I picked up a new one. I now will have two of both sizes.

Why was it discontinued? I would say the Skirmish had to rise above its price point, the funky colored dots, and the recurve. If you gave it a chance, the full size 630 is just too cool. Oh, and I forgot the super huge clip. Some people did not like the clip.

Is it a classic? Well the original version by Blackwood is a well known knife. However I don't see it a a classic like the AFCK, 710, 520, or 940...

You're going to have to elaborate on that first part of your statement Mark.

Once again, on your last part of the statement you forgot to include the 73X. I know that ellipsis can me the list goes on, but the 73X can not be understated by the use of that. Wink

To throw my 2 cents in, the 630 did appeal to me when I first discovered Benchmade, but after giving it some thought I realized that it was too big for me. The 635 was a nice design, but the handle didn't set well in my hand. I the discomfort had to do with the way the end of the handled dropped off. Still they were nice designs, but now there is the Bob Lum 760BKLFTi which could be considered a nice replacement.
