lol, its been a long day. the 912 gold handles are too think and feel awkward. i use my knives, gold class included and i could never carry it because it didnt feel right. the production ones look very nice IMO and feel good too. i really like the texture they added with the nitrous design, though i dont like the nitrous system...(without a lock) .ok here we go again

Probably because those that can afford higher end (and priced) collectibles haven't been as badly affected by the global economic downturn as those who have more modest incomes. It actually makes sense for a company to ramp up higher end products during bad financial times because the well-to-do are still well-to-do and will still spend. Lower income categories will hold off on purchases to make ends meet, but the affluent remain relatively unaffected. This phenomena has been noted by several custom knifemakers on other forums.

Ive seen this priced @ $329.95 so far.

Think about it the gold class knives are a profit center for BM.. Pump out 12-20 different models a year add CF and damascus, (ok flip a coin, with or with out) and wham you have a $400 ++ knife that sells out in 2 weeks. Why wouldn't BM launch 20 of these a year they would be foolish not to. And who am I kidding if I could justify the price tag on them I would be all over them.. from what I understand BM has a team of a few employees that all they do it pump out gold class knives.. the cool thing is (like CVO bikes from HD) is that one person take the knife and builds it completely.

Now, if only that one person would also bypass the CNC machine,then the price tag (not the collector's value) would be well justified.
