Tomorrow afternoon, I will post a new topic to create a signup list for the 2012 Forum Knife. There are a couple of fine details yet to work out so this topic is just a heads-up to draw off some questions and clutter from MCM's thread and help keep that topic focused.

This topic is not the signup list. This topic is simply a note saying the deal is moving forward. I am doing this for MCM *by request*. If you have posted in any polls, thank you. If you have sent PMs stating your support for the project, thank you. However, those posts and PMs were not a signup list.

Tomorrow the real, no kidding, signup list will start. There will be a separate topic with explicit instructions on how to get on the signup list for the 2012 Forum Knife. With that commitment, we will keep a public, running tally to give the Benchmade folk a warm fuzzy feeling about doing this knife. Apologies if this was not clear enough before.

Why not wait for MCM to do it when he gets ready. There are already two polls, and I'm not sure they are getting noticed that much. Maybe it's confusing to some. Another poll might confuse things even more.

I am doing this for MCM. This will not be a poll, it will be a genuine put your name on a signup list. I am sorry to post and run, but my alarm clock goes off in four hours and then I have a very long day ahead of me before I see my computer again.

I agree with the comments above. Jan why not hold off until MCM has more information. He already knows the basics and am sure a number of PM's have been sent with place holders.

I feel we should wait for this at least till we know what knife it is. This is going to change the outlook if certain knives come up. I personally will not be on the list till we figure out what knife is made. If it is a 14205, 746, or 615 I am in. If it is a 710, 950, 806\805 for example I am out on this deal. Also price is going to be a factor. We need to get the details before we get a sign up.

Some long time members won't get a chance at these if they are taken up before we have details. That would be a shame.

I'd like to see us wait until its been finalized that A) Benchmade SURPRISE! or B) a model is determined before producing a list. My name will be on it regardless, but as stated by others.. it hinges for them on the model as to whether the knife will be something they can shell out the cash for.

Please don't post a signup list until it's been determined just what's going to happen. MCM rocks at this sort of thing, but it's all just a process. Let's not skip any steps.
