I am thinking of bending my clip as follows in the picture. Bend at the arrow, so the bottom follows the angle of the blue line.

Hopefully this will make it easier to slide into my pocket and will still maintain retention. Anyone done this, or anyone have any thoughts as to how successful it will be. I am skeptical as to its effectiveness which is why I ask.

fwiw (I don't own the 755), but I wouldn't bend the clip... I'd remove (with a file) some of the material at the end (on the inside bottom).

At the area of the green line I painted in the photo... just my quick.not.very.well.though.out.opinion. Smiler

I thought about that, but I think it would ruin the retention. Yesterday I located some very thin washers and used them to shim the clip. They did increase the gap, but the clips retention was severely compromised. So I decided to maybe try this pending feedback.

I would just do it, but if I mess the clip I feel guilty asking BM for another, they send it to me express, costs them like $25 dollars.

Don't know the thickness of the washers you used, but raising the height of the clip at the attachment point isn't the same as removing a few thousandths of material where I suggested. The tiny (but real) amount of space you'd be 'creating' would just be taken-up by the thickness of the material you're clipping to. I'd think that you'd just be relieving some pressure at the clip point - not compromising the integrity of retention. Anyway... that's how I see it. You'll work it out. GL

Ive hated that damn clip since I first slipped one into my pocket. The 755 is perfect except for the clip.

Good luck Trevor, I hope you find a solution for all of us bro

As I say when the clip makes the knife it's a bad design. WAAYYY to many comments about that danged clip IMO.

I think your right on this, and I think it may work, perhaps better than what I was thinking. But, I don't know if the gap is the actual problem. I think the issue is that there isn't enough of an up sweep in the end of the clip to guide my pocket into the clip. None of my other knives show a gap leading me to think the problem is something else.

I think the clip looks quite nice and needs no adjustment. Of course, mine is in the box...

I hate feeling the clip in my hand. I remove all of mine when they arrive. My knives are 'pocket knives'. My 755's was the neatest - almost left it. YMMV.

So this mission abruptly ended today.

Initially I made the bend as I indicated in my first post. This did help a bit, the clip did go on easier, less trouble slipping over the lip of the pocket, but it was still less than ideal.

I then decided to increase the bend as the tip of the clip (shown in pic below), and add a downward bend at the back end to close the gap which resulted from the new bend. However, the back end proved to be a little more brittle than anticipated and the clip snapped.

I am sending a knife to BM for some washers next week so I'll get them to send me a replacement clip for this knife when they return it. It appears the 755 has won this battle.
