I know I'm new and I know me and a few others had some debate over a few issues. I have been following the recent threads concerning the new BM forum knife. I started thinking (since I wasn't around then)what debate and discussions went into the last forum knife. I did a google search and found this review interesting.

I think the "spirit" of the forum knife has been lost with everyone wanting something that has never been offered or hopefully never will be again. I hate seeing long time members saying they aren't interested because this model was chosen over another or because CF seems to be the likely skin choice. As suggested by another member to myself, I ask you old timers and the newbies alike, take a step back and rekindle the "spirit" behind what this knife represents.

The Story
- One more cool knife from Benchmade. It all started in 2001 on Benchmade Forums. Group of BM forum members proposed a limited run of some knife from BM current line. It'd be nothing new, as Benchmade does it all quite frequently, except at this time the knife model, configuration and some other details were chosen by forum members. Obviously they (or we) were the first buyers as well Smiler After long debates, as you know everyone has an opinion or two Wink consensus was achieved, and the configuration was finalized as following:

Model 705 (No blade length limit problems practically anywhere);
Carbon Fiber Scales vs. G10 on the prod. model;
M2 Blade Steel vs. 154CM on the prod. model(though damasteel was popular demand too);
Boron Carbide coating vs. BT2 on the prod. model;

All it was left after that for the fellow forumites to pick the numbers(this run was serial numbered as usual) and of course wait. Benchmade agreed and then after 7-8 months of wait here it is, my #9 BMK Forum Knife - 705 CFHS.

To be fair, this topic has morphed and spilled out over many threads. Can you not give cinman14 an A for effort?

Apparently not as much as I should. But my reason for posting this was to try and get people to remember what the knife is about, not really as a way to show details. But granted, if I had seen the other threads I wouldn't have posted this, but my OCD concerning "editing" my threads won't allow me to change it. Maybe someone else can delete it for me..

Maybe you can come up with a poem, or maybe a song.

You ruffled some feathers in that thread, but I am glad you decided to give the forum a chance and not be driven by the emotions of the moment.
