It also depends on how thick the blade is and the angle of the edge. A heavy field/survival knife never feels as sharp as a thinner edc blade does. | |||

Won't shave hair it is dull. I guess the other side of this question and perhaps part 2 for this discussion is what is sharp? For me these days able to cut this strips of phone book paper without any pulling or tearing. The phone book paper is free hanging when cut. The thin rough quality paper sliced with a single swipe only comes with a very sharp blade. Being able to push cut paper used to be my best test but 3000 grit sandpaper followed by stropping with two grades of compound showed me a new definition of sharpness. | |||
