Today on my trip to the Doctor's, (I'm getting better but it's slow) I stopped in at the Shaver Shop in Oakland to take a look at the new stuff. Spent an hour with the guy that runs the shop, I'm known there as a regular, and here's my thoughts...

If I had the money, the 555BK-101 would probably be the only knife I'd go for, if I could. Absolutely fantastic knife.

While he didn't have any of the Bone Collector knives, or the 790, he did have the 741, the WARN Barrage-like Tanto model, not the 755, but did have the 110H20. He also had the 585-1, the only new model I have so far.

On the 741...I will skip this one, unless I get a really good deal, it's too big. In person, it's really larger than in the photos, even pictured next to the 740, which is a keeper.

The WARN knife is a good one, like a Barrage on Steroids, the PE satin version is nice and feels good in the hand.

Oh, he did have the all Damascus Gold 930 all in metallic gray, which is awesome, and as well the Gold 930 with the blue handle scales. The all Damascus version is to drool over.

I did play with one of the 515 Rant DPT's, which looks like an excellent Fixed blade for the money, in D2.

I'll think of more to say, but it was worth going in to see the knives in person, nothing beats the hands-on experience.

One more...played with that little 3150 Impel, California legal, and a very cute little thing. It makes for a good coin pocket knife and the blade was scalpel sharp.

As a note, every one of the folders I looked at were centered and had excellent lockup, the exception were the couple of the Chinese HK models, which just look cheap(er) in the build and overall feel.

So for the '10 production line the quality is definitely there.

I agree with you on that one Joe. It looks good in the catalog, but it looks even better in person. It feels excellent in the hand too.
