How does the Impel unlock? I can't quite see from the pics. kirbysdl, the Impel is an automatic. By pressing the button, the blade comes out automatically. The smaller switch beside the button is a safety, to my understanding.

Sorry I was unclear. I know it's an auto, but I figure there's some way that the blade locks open. How do you disengage this lock to be able to close the blade into the handle?

The button is used to open the knife and to disengage the lock as well. The button is the lock, if that makes sense
