Received my NIB 830 in the mail this afternoon...I forget how nice these Ascents are. Worth seeking these oldies out!

Nice find on your Ascent joe_karp. The Ascents are definitely worth looking for.

And thanks for posting the link to the old BM catalogs. I looked up my Ascent and it's a Model 840s. It was my first Benchmade and I still use it.

I bought it new and I remembered I paid a lot for it. No wonder, I paid MSRP for it.

Here's a link to a page I found with specs on the Ascents. Note that the the section for the 840s is mislabeled.

Thanks Rick. If I haven't said it, welcome to the Forum.

Yeah, this one is NIB and looks great, centered and smooth. Came with a few tiny nicks, from who knows how, a few strokes on the Edge Pro 1200 grit rod and they're gone.

Asking price was $60...pretty good deal still.

Thanks for the welcome Joe. Very nice forums ya'll have here. Ironically, I found the Benchmade Forums while searching for information on my Ascent.

You got a heck of a deal on your Ascent. You paid $15 less than I paid for my 840S 15 years ago. Smiler

It was the humble Ascent that started my Benchmade knife addiction. It may have been Benchmade's budget model but it had that certain spark. My 840S is still in my EDC rotation.

Yup great knives!

I have hopes that with all BMs being US made again the Eclipse/Accent/Pika will come back home.

The 820S was my first BM folder. Nice little knife that served me well for many years. It now sits in my safe and I will give it to my son when he is old enough. It will then be his first BM as well. Smiler
