Thanks Lorenzo. Just recall it referred to as kinda like a SS D2. (Not a huge fan of D2) Also, whats the hardness? Is it up there is S90v? Thanks S90v Please......

I think that Carpenter's CTS-XHP is the one often described as "stainless D2". As for the hardness, BM lists it as 60-62RC. As a comparison, Spyderco hardened the S90V Manix 2 to 58-59. With those "super" steels, hardness means very little, steels like S90V or S110V have such intrinsic wear resistance properties that they can be kept at a lower RC hardness. ZDP-189 is on the opposite side of the spectrum, being taken to 64RC or higher. Try the following test: strop an S90V blade and an S30V one. you will see that despite the S30V one having a higher RC, it will polish much faster than S90V. S90 actually "eats" the strop. The best example of blade materials with low RCs and high wear resistance is Stellite/Talonite/Boye Dendritic. 220, 425BK, 425BK-600, 426, 426BK, 3200, 5000, 5000BK-702, 5500SBK-801, 520A, 520SBT, 520BK-1101, 525SBK-701, 707D2-600, 707-701, 710D2, 710-101, 730-801, 730CFHS, 740, 805-1101, 806-701, 806BK-801, 806BK-901, 806SBK-901, 806-1101, 913D2, 950-801, 950BK-901, 960BK-801, 960-WW, 12800BK-801, 14205, S30V Ritter, M4 Ritter

The limited edition model 710DLC-1 most certainly is coated with DLC. The prep process we used was slightly different than previous products that have featured DLC. In the case of the 710, we sandblasted the blades before coating to create a smooth texture. The resulting aesthetics are a little different (less gloss), but there is no change in performance.

From looking at Knifeworks site ......I take it that the 710 390 wasnt a complete sell out. I thought they were sold out awhile back , I guess I was wrong. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contempt Prior to Investigation - Dont knock it till you,ve tried it. I am seriously on the fence with this model. I know I will most likely find it too large and end up selling it after I've carried it a bit, but I really want one of these dlc versions. I have never owned a 710 and I don't know if I can call myself a BM fan without trying one out at some point. Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance | Member #960

You might not like it .......if the 520 was to big then this one might be also. However its not as fat ...... so you should at least buy one and find out. If you hate it ....... look me up -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contempt Prior to Investigation - Dont knock it till you,ve tried it. I'll bet that you will never sell it. I do not like the 520 either and sold the one I has a long time ago. I have three 710's and think they are the cat's meow. It's hugely different.
