Wilkins Grips (Griptilkins) - anyone have them?

So I went and made an impulse buy today - I bought a full size Ritter Griptilian with black G-10 Wilkins Grip scales. I've always wanted one and the price was right.

Now that I have seen a few more pics, I realize the knife might be a little thick for me. Does anyone here have one, and can you tell me how thick the full size Wilkins Grip handles are?

I'm looking for general opinions - how do you like yours, etc. I should have mine in hand by early next week.

So what do you all think?

I dont have the G-10 version , I have a mini grip with titanium handles.
I think there great , there heavy , but makes the knife feel like a 520 strength wise .
Take a look ...........

My full-size "Griptilkin" is an orange handled Ritter bladed one.

I like it.

I am not a fan of the full-size Griptilians. They just don't feel right to me, probably because the handle is so light in weight.

But with the Wilkins grip/scales, I find the weight about right. Balance is pretty nuetral versus the stock blade heavy balance.

The Wilkins scales are a bit wider than many knives I own, but they are comfortable in hand when cutting and I have no carry issues. I do have a few knives that are wider, as well as larger in all dimensions.

Overall, I can imagine many worse knives to carry (I own a few), so I am safisfied.

Congrats on the buy, BTW.

I've got a 551 with WilkinsGrips on it... I love it... They fit my hand perfectly... I don't think theres anything wrong with the stock scales from BM, but I like the WilkinsGrips better... They're not too wide, in my opinion, compared to the stock grips...

Whats even more impressive than the feel of the grips is the fit and finish with which they're made... Kevin Wilkins really does a great job on them, and they fit the Grip perfectly... Lots of little intricacies that probably go unnoticed, especially on the underside of the grips, that require a lot of skill.

If you get them and you're disappointed, just put them up in the For Sale section here... I'm sure somebody (I.E., ME) will take them off your hands Big Grin.

CAn any of you give me a measurement of the tickness of the Wilkins Grip handles? They look like they're about .6" thick, but it's hard to tell.

Large wilkins: .572"
Small wilkins: .465"
Large 551: .625"
Small 556: .500"
compare to 940: .410"

the biggest difference is the contouring. i like the wilkins, dont like regular grips. here are some i have owned since Dj is showing off Wink

My Mini M2HS Ritter is exactly like that pictured by dj except his blade looks new snd mine has been EDC for almost three years. I added the Wilkins titanium scales a month or so ago. A bit heavy, as dj said, but the quality is very evident. I love this knife! Large or small I don't think you can go wrong. Gerry
