TDOGG, thanks for the vid. It brings up a question. With the older Axis locks, similar to the 943 in the video, the Axis locking bar can be removed from the frame by first removing the omega springs and then by letting the locking bar move down the channel it rides in to the other end where there is a large hole through which the locking bar can be removed. On newer Axis knives, like the new 710-1, there is no large hole at the end of the channel. The only way to remove the locking bar from the frame is to remove one of the buttons from the end of the locking bar. OK...now my question: How do you remove the buttons from the locking bar? Are they threaded on? I'm just looking for some instruction from anyone who has removed the buttons. If threaded, how did you grip them without damaging them. Any tricks to it? ********************** ********************** You are the Sum of Your Actions. Knife Rights Member | |||

Agreed. None of my knives have required taking apart, yet all have gained smoothness from cycling and use. Maybe a little drop or two of Tuf-Glide on the pivots is all, and again only if needed. 350, 520, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 810, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. Looks like they are screwed on and there is a drilled out "divot" in the side of the button to use some sort of tool to get some grip on. ----- I expect nothing from anyone. I am entitled to nothing tangible. I am an American Original. I'm looking to buy specific Red, Blue, Black, & Green 940 variants. PM me!
