hi,
as i posted before i got my new rukus and mini rukus and they are magnificent.
they are one of those things that are much more impressive in real life than in pictures.
What i like also is that the way the pocket clip is positioned very high that enables you
to carry it very low in the pocket without bieng much noticed, but the thing that kind of bothers me is the gauge steel used for the clip
seems to me its more fitting for a hair clip than a pocket clip. any ideas?
thanks!

Just email benchmade for some new clips. Joe Karp I think got a new one from Benchmade which was a lot stronger and not painted, I think it was parkerized or something.

Nice collection of knives and guns by the way Smiler

Still in search of my first BM.

In need of a used, but loved 42. I've never owned any BM, send me a PM.

Sounds good, can you post a pic of the stroger Benchmade 610 clip?

I was hoping to find a smaller and stronger clip. Anything out there?

Thanks

There really isn't, I tried to find a custom replacement which didn't work out. Yes, call Benchmade and ask for a replacement...it looks the same as the factory issue but is thicker and Parkerized.

The additional stiffness makes a big difference in reducing that flex we all love to hate!

Joe,
When did you get your Ruckus clip? I got one a couple of weeks ago, and it was just like the one that came with the 610.

I got mine a couple of months ago. Maybe they have a couple of variations in the parts bin.

there's a fellow on bladeforums who does some nice custom clip work, think his handle is STR. might be worth a look.

Already tried... There's a posting I made a long while back about just that attempt.

Short story: I contacted STR and sent the original scratched 615 Rukus clip to him with instructions to make a "deep pocket" clip. What I received was not what I expected. The titanium clip mounted OVER the chamfered inset on the right scale, and with the two stock screws combined with the slick Micarta, the clip torqued badly in my pocket.

As it was his first time trying a Rukus clip, we had an agreement that I would wait to pay him until I was sure it would work...so I wound up not liking it, didn't pay him, (we agreed this was OK.) and then ordered the replacement from Benchmade.

Maybe I missed something, but the stock solution wound up working just fine for me.
